Day 27 Sun 20 Mar 11 Hervey Bay
Sunday at Hervey Bay
20.03.2011 - 20.03.2011
27 °C
A Later walk than usual this morning so it was muggy and then it just got hot. Back for a shower then in the new dress, we went to Enzos for breakfast. When you've found a good thing that works, stick to it!
Big W for new knickers! Yay. Go Davenport and Bonds.
Home for a nap whilst it rained but when it stopped the sun came out and there was blue skies. Haven't seen much blue sky in Qld so far. It has been grey and humid or sunny and humid!
We went for a drive in the late afternoon around Hervey Bay, Torquay, Urungan, then over to Point Vernon. We found a boat ramp where there weren't any dogs and we had some off lead time on the rock shelf that surrounds the Point Vernon headlands. There are some great parks and fishing spots and recreational parks by the water. There was a lot of coral around the boat ramp and the sandals I was wearing were no so good for these activities. If only we had reef shoes! (left them in the caravan!)
Driving back to Hervey Bay we heard then saw the flocks of bats (flying foxes) in their thousands. Swirling masses of bats. We stopped for a photo but they just don't do the spectacle any justice. I assume it's their feeding and mating trees for the night.
We then went all the way back to Urungan to have fish and chips.
I turned in early. The heat seems to get to me more than Jimmi.
