St Patrick's Day in Queensland
17.03.2011 - 17.03.2011 26 °C
Unfortunately we didn't do anything special, as in Irish, for St Patrick's day. I'm writing this a day late coz honestly the waiting around for the Jeep to be ready was getting a little old so getting out and about was our first priority.
We decided to give Tambourine Mountain another go. One, to check on the Jeep and two, to check ou the countryside. It was well worth it. Stunning views all the way to the coast and beautiful hinterland. You dont go up without a good car and great brakes. She was steep, winding and the Jeep engine really worked out but no problems and the little township was nice. We stopped for a pee and snack break. Jimmi bought fudge at the fudge shop and Jelly Bellys for me. We gave them to Reception at the van park later as a thank you coz they're really not my first choice in jelly beans.
We headed back and the return trip was just a fun.
We did some boring banking, shopping type stuff in Runaway Bay and dropped into Biggera Waters to pick up another swag (for me) at BCF. Now all I need are sheets and we got to ditch all the old sheets and doonas.
Exhausted from our big outing, we started to slowly put away things we didn't need and Jimmi suggested Howards Storage for alternatives to how we're storing things now. There's one only 10 mins away so we dropped in for some sliding drawers and long containers that fit in the deep cupboards of the van much better than the whole bunch of smaller containers we had, so we donated them to other guests via the communal cooking area.
We splurged for dinner after all the rearranging of cupboards and being our last night. Up the road we went for fish and chips only to find it closed, so Eagle Boys pizza it was. Lucky they have a gluten free base available and I can order without cheese although I'll chose better next time because the one I chose was a little light on ingredients when you take out the cheese, whereas Jim had heaps and only a little cheese!
A good night sleep for an early rise.
