Day 6 Sun 27 Feb 11 Highland Park, Nambucca to Coffs Harbour

Move into Coffs for Jeep diagnostic

sunny 37 °C

Up at 5.30am for a big breakfast by the ultimate hostess, Michele (Misch). Eggs, bacon, roasted tomatoes, and toast. Pack up the van and wash off the Jeep, ready to go. Misch makes us her famous wiener schnitzel for lunch and extras for us to take with us. Lucky us!!
Pack up last foods and give the Crusties containers that we unpacked (the big square storage containers take up too much room and don't fit into all the nooks and crannies in the van storage cupboards - looking at getting smaller ones) and no longer need, as well as the step to get into the van which we replaced for a better non slip version.
Left at 1.30pm and Arrived at Harbour City Holiday Park and got a pick of the spots since there were only 5 others there is a big space on the dog friendly side of the park. It is part of the Showground so we took a site (114) against the main arena with a two van space to walk to amenities block. You get a code for the boom gate but since we're on the showground side there is a gate that never closes we can gain access to our van. You also get a key to override the key pad if it doesn't work on the amenities block which includes a laundry.
We set up in the heat of the day (yuck poo) so afterwards had a shower. The Boys and I went for a walk and at the suggestion of Craig, the owner, we discovered the extensive grounds of the showgrounds and the paths along the creek.
In the far paddock they've erected a 30" Egyptian inflatable pharoh for what we think is an exhibition.
A little drizzle later and some thunder and lightning but over before long.

Good on ya Misch! Can you go back and get that Egyptian Pharoh . . .I am doing up the house Egyptian style for Gav's 40th b/day . . .in all the places we have travelled Gav fell in love with Egypt . . .me it was Africa. Sounds like the boys are getting to see lots on the trip.
