After being woken at 1.30am this morning with poor Levi's ear giving him such grief. He was scratching his ear slowly and repeatedly because it was hurting him and he was so sleepy but couldn't because of the pain. We gave him a tablet usually for when he gets the itchy skin hoping it would help, clened his ear and put topical cream in - not the best idea because it turned out he had an infection which you need to keep dry but its so hard to watch him suffer. We took both dogs on a slow walk around the caravan park and then Levi was so tired he came in and went straight to sleep. I, however, was quite awake so I finished off the last chapter of Book 3 - AAAHHHHHH! What an ending! Crap, I wanted to start on Book 4 but I made myself go to bed otherwise I knew I would be up all night reading compulsively.
We got up early and whilst I took the boys on our morning walk, Jim checked with Reception about local vets. Jim made an appointment for 11.20am at the Coomera GreenCross Vets and then made an appointment with Jeep for Tuesday, filling them in on our weekend test drive to Tambourine Mountain.
A nice easy morning, then off to the vets. Levi has no problem with anyone and rarely reacts when getting needles or examined, although he did flinch when she swabbed his ear. Turns out he has an infection, so with ear wash and cream and tick medication later we filed out. Jim and I turned to each other and made a comment at the same time about the vet we saw. Not only was she confident, calm, knowledgeable, efficient, personable but absolutely drop dead gorgeous!
We went next door to the Coomera Pet Barn for doggie treats and once again we disappointed in the range available - so far nothing beats the range at Pet Food Plus at Roselands or even PetBarn at Milperra. It must be hard for these warehouse style places to have to buy stock for a bit of everything - dogs, cats, reptiles, fish. Personally I'd specialise but that's me.
We get back to the van park and Jimmi realises he didn't get the ear wash from the vet so he had a bite to eat then went back, he also bought more treats next door at the pet warehouse!
All that matters is Levi feels better - no more sad face.
A spectacular truck and gooseneck trailer arrived this afternoon. A Dodge RAM 3500 V6 turbo diesel pulling a 30 foot (if not bigger) goseneck trailer - an awesome sight. Jim and I went for a walk around the grounds just to get a look at them.
The rest of the day was a picture of relaxation. Jim had a swim, we read and napped. Looks like more of the same for tomorrow! Bummer! Not!
