LAST DAY & WELCOME BACK JEEP
08.03.2011 - 08.03.2011 25 °C
This morning started off a bit sluggish but whilst Jim had a nap, the boys and I walked to the Jeep dealership to ask about the progress. Our timing was excellent because Michael in Service was on the phone with Jim whilst the mechanic was telling me that the Jeep was ready. Turns out a faulty clip on the fuel line was letting air into the fuel. So the engine was sucking more air than fuel which lead to the sluggish performance and the engine warning light. Replaced, checked and a clean bill of health. Fingers crossed this is the problem solved. I'm confident these guys have got it sorted. Thank you Service team at Northern Rivers Chrysler dealership, 5 Snow Street (cnr Snow St & Bruxner Hway) South Lismore.
A half hour walk back to Lismore Lake Caravan Park under a light drizzle but everything was going to be OK. I knew it was going to be great when Tank found a $10 note in the stinky water that he loves so much, in the grassy slushy ditch beside the road as we walked towards Jeep.
The plan for the rest of the day was to wash sheets to have fresh beds for the next step of the journey and to slowly clean flors, vacuum etc and pack away everything non essential. I like not having to rush - it's definitely a change of pace for me as I'm such an adrenalin fueled person. Always running around, always doing stuff, always working - too much, all the time go go go. I'm learning to slow down, thank you Lismore although it is time to move on.
Since we had to give back the hire car Jeep Assist organised, Jim did an initial clean and then the psycho cleaner in me took over and gave it a thorough going over with the pet brush only to have the baby Dyson run out of charge - POO! So there I was picking up a pile of dog hairs by hand! It looked great with all the surfaces cleaned as well. I even found food stuffs that the previous hire must have eaten since we didn't eat in this car at all! Back went the Camry to Hertz, and then Jimmi taxi'd to the dealership to pick up the Jeep. Can't wait to get back in the Jeep. In the Camry, I felt like we were sitting on the road compared to in the Jeep, where you sit upright and are higher.
So they day went pretty slowly as we packed things away in between coffees, snacks and Jimmi's quick visit to Bunnings for a BBQ brush. All of which means no rushing tomorrow and the day cleared up so it was clear skies and sunny. A great way to end our stay in Lismore. Fingers crossed it stays clear for our pack up tomorrow.
